Our mentors are elite or aspiring-elite athletes chosen for their character, empathy, and ability to connect. They’re relatable, down-to-earth role models who build trust quickly and make a genuine difference. All hold a current Working With Children Check and undergo a National Police Check.


Georgia knight

Georgia is a current AFLW Footballer with Collingwood Football Club and a recipient of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award for her work with HAD in Schools.

Through the program, Georgia uses her lived experience, leadership, and approachability to build trust with students and support confidence, connection, and positive engagement.

Georgia holds the following Certifications:

MENTOR

dusty corfield

Dusty plays Australian Rules Football in Division 1 of the MPFNL. He has completed studies in sport, aquatics and recreation.

As a HAD in Schools mentor, Dusty draws on his sporting and educational background to create engaging, active sessions that support student wellbeing, participation, and motivation.

Dusty holds the following Certifications:

  • SIS30122 Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation

  • Certificate of Completion in Education Support (Monash University)

rEEVE EVANS

MENTOR

Reeve is a current VFL Footballer with St Kilda Football Club and a recipient of the Young Citizen of the Year award in Toolamba for his active participation and support of the community. He is now undertaking a Bachelor of Law and Commerce.

Reeve was a boarder throughout high school, where he dedicated his time to his studies and his commitment to playing football at the highest level.

Reeve's experience of leaving home young, navigating the pressures of elite sport, and balancing study with performance gives him a genuine understanding of the challenges young people face and the tools to help them through it.

JACKSON MANSFIELD

Jackson plays Australian Rules Football for Seymour in the Senior Men’s Division of the GVFL.

Jackson's character was recognised long before he stepped into a mentoring role. At Assumption College he received both the Champagnat Spirit Award and the Joe O'Sullivan Community Leadership Award - each acknowledging his commitment to respect, inclusion, and showing up for others. Outside of sport and school, he has spent over a decade volunteering with Variety Children's Charity, participating in the Brats Bash Program.

Jackson has a genuine understanding of what it means to be present for young people, and brings that warmth and reliability into every session.

Shae plays Australian Rules Football for Warragul Industrials in the MPFNL, and brings an impressive sporting background having represented Gippsland Power in the Talent League across 2024 and 2025. She is also highly accomplished in athletics, demonstrating a commitment to sport and personal excellence across multiple disciplines.

Through HAD in Schools, Shae is passionate about being a positive presence for young people, showing them what dedication and hard work can look like in practice. She understands that her role goes beyond football, and is driven by the opportunity to mentor and inspire kids at a formative stage of their lives.

LIAM BARBER

Liam plays Australian Rules Football for North Heidelberg in the NFNL, where he serves as Deputy Vice Captain, a role that follows his leadership as Under 19s Captain in 2025. Alongside his playing career, he is also an active junior coach.

Through HAD in Schools, Liam brings a genuine commitment to mentoring young people. His experience leading and developing others has shaped his understanding of what young people need to grow in confidence and back themselves. Liam knows that the foundations built at a young age go far beyond sport, and he is driven by the opportunity to be a steady, encouraging presence for kids who are still figuring out who they are and what they're capable of.

DREW BAKER

MENTOR

Drew plays Australian Rules Football for East Ringwood in the EFNL, where he is part of the leadership group.

Drew has significant experience working with young people, particularly in sport, having spent 2 years coaching the East Ringwood JFC Under 10 and 11 Boys teams. He is currently completing an undergraduate degree in teaching.

Through HAD in Schools, Drew brings enthusiasm for giving back to his community, and a natural ability to connect with young people. Having come through community sport himself, he understands the impact a positive role model can have t. Drew is energetic, encouraging, and committed to creating an environment where kids feel supported to grow and take on challenges.

Jess has played representative netball and was part of the Eastern Ranges Talent League, before progressing to be a former VFLW-listed Hawthorn player.

Through HAD in Schools, Jess brings strong leadership, approachability, and lived sporting experience to connect with students, support confidence, and foster positive engagement in a safe and inclusive environment.

Kyan Ellis

MENTOR

Kyan has played Australian Rules Football at a Regional Representative and coaches at Lilydale Football Club. Kyan is currently also completing his undergraduate studies in Project Management.

Within HAD in Schools, Kyan brings structure, reliability, and relatability to mentoring sessions, helping students develop confidence, accountability, and positive routines.

Anelise McCracken

Anelise has played high-level cricket and Australian Rules Football throughout her career having been part of the St Kilda NGA AFLW Academy and now playing for Woori Yallock FNC.

Anelise has completed work experience in disability support. She is currently completing an undergraduate degree in psychology.

Through HAD in Schools, Anelise brings empathy, insight, and a strengths-based approach to supporting students' emotional wellbeing and social connection. Anelise is the kind of mentor who meets young people where they are, warm, non-judgmental, and genuinely invested in helping them feel seen.
